The age and character of each pot are stated on the product page. The oldest pieces often carry the strongest patina; newer pieces can be chosen for shape, scale or colour.

Some pots are suitable for holding water, especially porcelain or fully glazed pieces. Pots with unglazed areas may absorb moisture or “sweat”, so we do not recommend placing water or soil directly inside. For planters, use a plastic liner or inner pot and protect floors with a saucer, tray or floor protection.

Many glazed pots can be used outdoors, but each piece should be assessed separately. Antique and weathered pots may change further when exposed to rain, frost or strong sun. For outdoor use, avoid standing water inside the pot and cover the opening during heavy rain, snow or frost.

Most antique, vintage and handmade pots are sold individually because every piece is slightly different. When a pair or set is available, this is mentioned in the description. Indonesian pots are often associated with water pots, storage jars and more earthy, tropical-weathered surfaces. Yes, when the opening is large enough for a liner or inner pot. Do not place soil and water directly into an antique pot unless the product is clearly suitable for it. A plastic liner protects the pot, controls moisture and prevents staining, sweating or floor damage.

Check scale, opening, weight, floor protection and the largest diameter, not only the height. Large pots often have a different width at the rim, body and base. We list the largest dimension in the product information where possible. For projects, measure the final location before ordering.
