Tang and Han Dynasty Statues

The Tang dynasty was a Chinese Imperial dynasty from 618 AD to 907 AD and one of the most important ages in Chinese history. For example, this golden age in China brought forth the most beautiful Chinese poetry ever produced, the rise of Buddhism in China, social rights for women, spectacular works of art, woodblock printing, the introduction of chairs, and the prominence of the horse as symbol of prosperity and power in China. Many inventions and cultural exchanges were made possible by the flow of trade, science and religion along the silk roads. We mainly know this period in time due to the wonderful works of art produced and the many earthenware statues and pottery left as gifts for the afterlife.
