Large board/panel with nicely decorated corners and metal hangers. The 4 outlined characters in the middle stand for generosity, a sign of gratitude from a person who received benefits from generous behaviour.
As all old boards, the writing is in the traditional form, not in simplified character. The learning of characters and the art of calligraphy were cultivated as a form of artistic expression. Therefore, part of the beauty of these boards are the characters themselves, the way they are written, and they are usually copied in the style of some famous calligraphers.
