Three- dimensional wooden Wayang Golek puppets; unique West-Javanese puppets used in traditional puppet shows which are still put up as entertainment for the community. Plays based on stories from the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata are very popular and most puppets are based on their main characters.
The wooden puppets often got new clothing. So the textiles on the puppet are far newer then the wooden puppet itself.
