Piece of an old decorated and embroidered piece of textile that was once part of a traditional baby carrier. The textile is dark indigo-black with beautiful detailed embroideries, including stylised butterflies. This old and original embroidery comes from the Miao minority tribe in China. Baby carriers are an important part of a Miao woman’s dowry. They are also a prestigious addition to the elaborate clothing worn by Miao people.
Framed in a perspex case (approx. 5 cm deep). Can also be purchased without the perspex casing.
