Warring States Period (475-221 BC)

Pair of ancient pots, made during the end of the Warring States period and the beginning of the Han dynasty (around 220 BC). Short with wide, flat shoulders and big belly. Unglazed, with a reddish tint and beautiful imprinted patterns around the body.
During the Shang period and Western Han periods proto-celadon or proto-porcelain, an early type of the famous Chinese ceramics, was developed. It was usually adorned with a light yellowish or brown glaze.
