Antique Hindu ceremonial/festival hand-held bell from Nepal. The sound is very clear and pure. The bell is rung specifically to call Vishnu. This superb antique large ritual temple bell consists of high quality bronze and shows a wonderful shape with round base and ribbed handle. The top of the handle shows two images of Hanuman and one Garuda crowned with Mukhalinga cobras or nagas. The cobras at the head denote protection. With original iron clapper. Good clear sound! Excellent darkened patina due to its high age and use.
