Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD)
A truly unique Han dynasty pot! The beautiful brown lead-glazed pot is shaped like an ancient Chinese grain silo. Stairs are etched on the body, leading to an open entrance. The top is shaped like a tiled roof upon which a bird and a monkey are seated. The top lid can be removed. These kind of granary pots were representations for food in the afterlife and placed in a tomb filled with grain.
